Bald Eagle

Post by Del Gue »

Having grown up on this lake I can remember a time when seeing an eagle was extremely rare. Through conservation and protection you can now be out on an afternoon troll and have one fly by. This one hit the water and I expected it to come up with a Salmon but it was and Alewife. Guess everything out there eats them. Thought I would share a few quick pictures I snapped as it was flying back to the nest. I know those of you who live in parts of the country where these are common see lots of them but for me, this was a real treat!

You got some good shots of the US National Bird Dave. A very majestic bird. Thanks for the look.

It has a nest in the cove between Barber Pt. and Westport. Next to the huge boat house. The pictures were taken in front of Westport.

Thanks Dave for the nice pics of a beautiful bird.
I don't have much chance to see bald eagle since I live in a big city surrounded by lots of concrete.
