Fly Fishing for Mallards - Tues 12/13

My friend Timmy and I did Shelburne Bay today. We went two for four with a 16" salmon and an 18" laker. We twice passed by a dead greenhead pecked apart by the gulls with its entrails hanging out. On the third pass, I decided to harvest the wing feathers for fly tying. I tossed it back for the gulls and about five minutes later I noticed the leadcore bending a bit more than usual. No action, just bending. So I pulled in my first mallard, on my own fly no less.

I think this my best fish story ever.

Sorry, no photos to prove it.

Good stuff for sure.
I once pulled up a fileted yellow perch...everything except the meat.
I got the wrong end of the deal that trip.
