Eyes, eyes, and more eyes!

Post by Heijac »

Any of you who have read my past posts know that I dont have very good luck chasing walleyes. Over the past 3 seasons, I have managed only 6, and I probably averaged 40 hrs fishing for each of them! Well this spring, I decided to spend a little time with someone who actually knows what they are doing. Justin was kind enough to take me out to one of his super-secret hot spots on monday night. We got our first bite at about 9:15, and for the next hour, it was just crazy! We probably hung 12 to 15 fish, and managed to land 7 of them. I paused to take a phone call at one point, and had to net 2 fish for Justin while I was talking! It was quite the load packing them back to the truck, but well worth it. So last night we returned to the same spot, and boy, the word had got around. The boat traffic went from 3 to about 10, but we still managed to hang 5, and land 3, including a nice 28" for Justin, that he released. And to top it all off, we brought some small jigs to play with before it got dark, and caught 20-30 fat white perch, including a master angler 14", and, a bonus MA 18" smallmouth! Thanks again Justin for showing me the ropes, and treating me to a couple of the best nights fishing of my life!

Very nice! I think I recognize your secret spot from the background. It looks just like my spot at night.

Wow Randy that is great that you were able to hook up with Justin and get those fish. I miss the days of catching a limit of Walleye without working as hard as you have to now.
