New 10 minute virtual tour of my Fishmaster 196 by Starcraft

Post by digitroll (ron) »

It was a great season as it's very close to winterizing the boat now with salt already on the roads with storms this week and next in the forecast.

We ended up with 100 hours of fishing time on the boat with 22 hours of additional testing time. 40 hours on Lake Ontario and 60 hrs. here on Champlain. Very happy with the boat after season one and I wanted to share with you all the features and benefits of what I think is the best big water trolling package available in a 19 ft boat with a Mercury 4 stroke 150 hp. engine!

Special recognition goes to Bob / Dustin at Vt Home and Marine + Don (ShayeDwinds) who helped on a Saturday in April to rig it in 8 hours.

Added todays new video 11/30/13:

Thanks Steve and others! Lots of nice boats out there!

Here is a another latest version of the same video I shot a few days ago I wanted to clean it up a bit and shortened it by 4 minutes. More steady camera shots on the demo. Let me know what you think? Starcraft is getting this video to post on there website and facebook and the goal was to make something that was describing all the features and benefits.

Ron,

Your video makes me want one.

LOL.

This is the time of year that we really appreciate the Fishmaster 196.

We are jealous of the second captains chair.

Here is another idea Ron - mount your fire extinguisher. We had an incident last week where my buddy's jacket fell on the Mr. Buddy Heater - while we were tending to doubles outside! No major incident except the loss of the jacket, lots of plastic glue on the heater, and a valuable lesson.

Today I took the extinguisher out of the hull compartment, replaced it with a current inspection card, and mounted it in plain view.

Thanks for the great suggestion Ken about locating a fire extinguisher.

Taking that frigid trip last January in your boat gave me a lot of insight to setting up the current boat. Very appreciated!

Nice rig! If I could cram six in there and have a porta-potti for the girls I would be all set!

We've got a 5 gallon bucket with a pottyseat. And ithe Fishmaster 196 is rated for more than six although seating gets limited with the back jumper seats removed for the trolling program.
