Fishville is still "land of the Lakers"

Don and I launched at 8 and were lines down by 8:30 - it was cool with a slight chop, but warmer than ice fishing weather so we were OK with it. As happened on Sunday it took a few minutes to find the fish, but when we did - YeHaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, we exceeded 30 over the gunwales and 15+ more "hit & runs" - the fish were on average bigger 4+#'s average and talk about feisty - whoa baby they were taking drag as opposed to being dragged - we did notice an very high incidence of lamprey hits on these fish - probably 2 of very 3 had a hit and most were fresh.

Not a single salmon to be seen - where did they all go? Water temp still 41F - Blue Moon started out hot, but everything else caught up pretty fast. Tried VT side and up by Dudley to see if we could scare up something else but the screen was a like a Polar Bear in a snowstorm - the "hot spot" is right at the base of the horseshoe the 100 ft line makes and shallower to about 75 FoW - get too far east or west of the centerline and no fish - 2.4-2.5 was where the engine idled nicely and the fish seemed to like it.

This could have been our "Last Hurrah" for the season - weather looks wicked for the next 4-5 days - Happy Holidays and a safe fish-filled New Year to all
