Lanched at 6am with DA and Dave Fount. Being Monday there was only a bass fisherman at the launch and we had the lake to ourselves almost all day. It was sunny all day which didn’t help the bite. We started off with a big yellowperch on a magnum rainbow speedy shinner. The thermo cline
Was very deep between 60 and 80 feet
Depending on where we were.
After trolling south a few mile we saw a couple big salmon jump near the boat in the calm water, so we knew we were getting
Closer to today’s bite... another mile and I had a fine tussle with a 23” torpedo... we marked the spot and spun and bam Dave was on with a pig...
His ended up being a FAT 24” fish we revived quickly after a length meas and pic. released like the 1st...
We had a few swing and misses
And I had a big salmon come into the spread green and walk all over the other rods in the spread... oh what fun..... that puppy was around 4.5 lbs, it fought WAY above his weight class....
Today we bbq’ed chicken wings with hot sauce and once again the bite was while we were eating... this is the 3rd trip in a row we had to close the bbq lid to grab a rod!
Surface temp was 72-74 and we never saw 56 deg above 50 today.!
Thanks to both Daves for a great time today...
