Fished the Broad Lake this afternoon for a bumpy 2 hour grind with my intrepid friend George. Made one circuit in 3 footers and on my second pass of my favorite spot, we hooked a salmon on the silver and red tape heavy trolling Bee. 70 down , George did a great job getting the fish in in tough conditions.4 1/4 lbs, not bad for a first LC salmon. It had a big lamprey as did a small LT.

You earned that fish! I was watching the trees in my yard saying... No we can't fish today :(

The old timers always said," If the wind is from the east , fish the least, when the wind is from the west, fishing is the best." I think there is some truth here. West winds don't develop the wave height that the south winds do , so generally i can go in a little stronger wind than south, also i can't back off the lift in heavy south, but i can in west.

One more saying Jeff: If it's calm mow the lawn.
