Teamed up with Peter Ferrone and we launched Morning Hooker right around 700am. Crisp 14 deg. Boat cover stiff like hell. Parking lot little icy but ramp ok with 2" of snow on it. Boat was just barely frozen to the trailer. Little soaking , little bouncing and she was free. It was calm, very little or no wind. Great weather . We started south from Light House covering water 15 down to 50 ft with downrigger lines and two light bite divers. Very little action. After 3 hours we landed 4 rather small lakers. All hit cop car needlefish We decided to go North, set up again by buoy 53 and kept trolling North up to buoy 51 then around Diamond Island and into Grosse Point. No sign of a fish at all with warm water at 42.5 deg. We have seen Instigator heading South. Maybe they know something the we don't??????
Great day, great weather, great company with fishing rather on the slower side. Leaving town till Jan 17.
Looks like end of open water fishing for me. She's gonna get winterized. See you on the ice.
