Sat 5/12 TR Town Farm

Post by TUnamas »

Launched solo just after first light and arrived to find Jeremy already with lines in. An hour later and the fleet had developed. It looked like LCI weekend with boats weaving and bobbing, some with planers out and others with long lines. Several of us solo, but conditions were good and everyone seemed well behaved so I didn't see or hear any issues. It was good to see Dukdog in the mix. Gangrene and Sausage Gravy down 12 and 15 on the riggers with 35 foot leads. An OFH "fixed" cheater at 10 on the deeper side with a Harry fired right off but then it went slow for me. I worked away from the fleet and at 7:30 I found a good school on a pocket of bait in a quiet corner, worked it and found they wanted bigger baits. I went 7/7 on BIG silvers in the next 45 minutes. Smallest was 23.5 inches and 4.5 on the Boga, biggest was 7.5 lbs. 5 of the seven had lamprey on them. A quick call to Jeremy to give the goods as I had to pick up and run back for a lacrosse game. Late afternoon I returned with my son and wife for a dinner cruise with the same program + an in-line planer board. The fleet was gone, but the bait was still there, though scattered. We picked up 4 more 20" silvers and a Master Angler laker for my son that was 29" between 5 and 7 pm. Salmon cakes and slow smoked pulled pork for Mothers Day!!

Scott,
You are a true angler and the master of your own designs..... You like very few go off on your own..... Find fish, figure out what they want and then give them heck. Hats off to you....
