1st place Norms derby salmon
Got on the water at first light in the pouring rain and gale force wind. It ended up paying off at 12:30 right before it was time to go in. 24.5" 7.5 lbs official. The fish brought new meaning to football.

Biggest laker was just over 6 pounds. No separate category for steelhead or browns and non entered. I was at awards. Second place laker. The salmon was real sweet!!!

Well done Mr. Ben! Man oh man, I need to get some more time in on this lake and get her dialed in.
Can I ask what area of the lake you were fishing? Thank you for telling your tale and posting the picture.
Once again well done!

Wish that he jumped. Still a good battle chasing him in the wind! Had to pull all the riggers and catch up with him!

Re: 1st place Norms derby salmon
The fish was caught in the northern part of the lake. 40ft down on the rigger, pink williams spoon. It never jumped, but made some good runs. After getting him in the boat I could tell why he chose to dive instead of go airborne. Fortunately Mr. Riverrunner was taking a leak and I was able to steal the rod before he saw it There were a few times we had to chase the fish in reverse because the wind was blowing us 2mph down the lake in neutral. Great time with a good friend, that's what it's all about.charlietuna wrote:Well done Mr. Ben! Man oh man, I need to get some more time in on this lake and get her dialed in.
