That's amazing ! what are the odds that a fish swimming around dragging a loose cheater will snag it on your downrigger cable ??? I wonder if it was attracted to your flashers if you had any on ?
could you tell it was on or did you just discover the fish when you pulled up your rigger ?

Shelburne Bay 5/27
Shelburne Bay has a reputation for not being the salmon fishery it once was, so I don't usually fish there. But with the light wind and nice weather today it seemed like a good time for a change in scenery and a chance to take the rowboat out past the point toward Juniper island. Water is colder and...

Re: 2023 DYP Final Results
Thanks Jack, Reelax, Homewrecker, & Crayfish for those great reports from the other DYP teams. Its good to see how the fishing went for the other boats out there. As for us... Half of our family team was still asleep as some of the other anglers hit the water, but I got my tween out of bed and w...

Re: Sat 15th in traffic
great report, and amazing action photo of the salmon spitting the lure ! My 11 yo daughter & I had our shakedown cruise yesterday in the same area (I think), she hauled in a big laker that took a CI Gold Melon, and that was our only bite of the day. The yo-zuri's and 1/6 oz speedy shiners that u...

Re: Last Troll Before Freezeout?
great report Jack, nice to see all the Country Angler is still hauling in the fish this late into winter ! I agree about the wild lakers, maybe 9 times out of 10 they fight harder than the ones with the clipped fins. Nice job getting in one more troll this year. Now it is time to sharpen the ice aug...

Re: Spring like post Christmas forecast December 29 thru January 8th
Met Dilly Worm and Brimstone Troller all the way from NH. With temps peaking up in the 50's it was an amazing day on the water with sun and nice conditions for the 5 boat fleet! Carol and I ended up with two nice salmon and 7-8 LT today. Fish were caught from 20 ft to 40 ft for us. Larger mini Jon ...

Re: Port Henry - 12/4
I remember you having a red Alumacraft so I assume we saw you, and that hooting may have come from the Country Angler crew as the kids caught a few salmon and lakers when I think we saw you too - you had the open red boat ?

Re: Investigating Southern Lake Salmon Hype
I really had a great time seeing (and hearing) how excited both kids got every time they reeled in a fish. Lots of fun with good company, good fishing, and Xmas music on the boat stereo !
