Re: 12/8/14 frostbite river fishing, updated for fall 2016

Yup that's a nice male right there. Wise to use the underbrush to hide the location as well ;-)

Re: 12/8/14 frostbite river fishing, updated for fall 2016

Nice meeting up with you today fishy1 and glad you had some action even if you were unable to land it. I went to another river after we met up. Fishing was still tough. Very low water and though a few fish breached during the +-1 hr I fished there they just weren't biting. Talked to one guy from my ...

Nice catch of perch both times! Lotta work to get the fillet's but perch are hard to beat when it comes to tasty fish.

Re: 12/8/14 frostbite river fishing, updated for fall 2016

10/21/2016 not long after a solid hit and fish on i land a nice 17 or 18 inch salmon. it was hooked right in the lip so i was lucky with those small treble hooks not taking it out of the water and releasing it. Glad to hear the salmon are in the river. Think ill hit my usual spot on Sunday morning ...

I am not sure if they were up the Boquet yet, but they sure are out front staging already... :o Its the same situation on Lake Ontario right now, the boats seem to be having a good deal of success at the mouth but the water is so low and warm in the SR that many fish haven't made their run yet. Im ...

Re: Salmon September....

Nice to see such fat, healthy salmon coming out of the lake and with apparently no recent lamprey marks either. Well done guys!

Re: 12/8/14 frostbite river fishing, pic chunky brown page 11

Yeah it was pretty slow on the Salmon River for this time of year. I've not seen the water this low in a while and its keeping the vast majority of fish from running for the time being. It was a great summer for fishing for me otherwise, got into some nice trout and a few stripers and mackerel down ...

Re: fishing update trout ponds 2016

Beautiful brown good job! How were the blackflies where you guys were? It was brutal where I went yesterday in the northern Adirondacks, I believe eaten alive is the proper term, thank goodness for Muskol! Caught my first splake ever in a pond at a relatively difficult-to-access spot on foot. Lots o...

Great catch Matt looks like you and Wayne have been having a blast. I hope to have half as much success when I go out pond fishing on Friday.

Re: fishing update trout ponds 2016

I fished from shore in my waders which gave me a little better accessibility to deeper water. Yesterday I went back to the same area and bushwhacked for about an hour to finally get to a remote pond. I saw one decent sized fish and a bunch of chub minnows but, despite fishing from different points a...

Re: fishing update trout ponds 2016

Well Matt you looked like you were having so much fun fishing in trout ponds that you inspired me to give it a try. Friday I took the day off work and fished three ponds further up North near Loon Lake and had a great day. Besides the gorgeous weather I landed about a dozen fish and missed 4-5 other...

Re: Landlocked salmon fishing for landlubbers

No big ones, the one I caught was the biggest I saw. But the ones I caught had energy to spare. Some fantastic leaps and runs. Im definitely going back next Sunday. How about you Matt any luck this weekend?

Re: Landlocked salmon fishing for landlubbers

Sunday April 24th - headed down to Willsboro to try my luck, hoping the water had warmed up enough to be inviting for the salmon. There were a good number of people who fished there during the day though I saw only three other people hook up. I had no hits between 7:00 and 10:30 when I decided to ch...
