Running a outboard in cold water

Post by Wallyandre (Andre) »

A lot of concern when we don't see any water coming out of the pee hole; more infos on that topic:
The pee hole is only a visual for us, that the engine is getting water and can give some idea of a weak water pump or the lower unit plugged with sand or weeds. It is actually just a visual bypass and would run fine with out it even being there most of the engine coolant water comes out the exhaust .

If the motor heats-up on the newer engine you will hear alarm

In the winter it's the water that freese-up in the little hose from the motor to the pee hole

And I hate to admit this:
I blow my pee-hole every time I take my boat out of the water during cold weather.

I call it my motor kiss.
It clears the tubing of water.
