On Thursday afternoon we motored through three footers to the Power Plant and then fished back to the Little Salmon in mostly 30' to 50' of water. There were plenty of fish on the screen, but no takers.
On Friday we had a nice chop with 50 - 52 degree water and we fished from Catfish Creek to the Power Plant and back to the Little Salmon. Still no Browns but we started catching some small Kings in somewhat deeper water. Most of the fish came 35' to 45' down and 30' back in 80 - 90 fow. Down temp was 42-45 degrees. Best lure was a green/silver "ladder back" Stinger. We released four juveniles and kept one mature King ( 19.6 lb ) which took twenty-five minutes to boat- Lots of fun with an eight- pound test leader.
Just to keep things interesting, the Coast Guard came along side to check safety equipment while we were in front of the Power Plant and the NYDEC stopped us for a fish survey and scale samples when we returned to the Little Salmon. - Sure nice to see everyone is hard at work .
