Raced Fathead to the launch at converse Today before sun up to see who could get the first pass on the good water (he won). I set up at garden and headed south to buckwheat and Thompsons Point.
The early morning bite was for the most part 25ft and up. I ran a small walker dispey and a blue and silver speedy shiner 125ft back that had 4 small salmon on it.

A few salmon were coming on the riggers but nothing fast or big.
Trolled over to Whalens to look for some bigger fish and found some 3-4 ft waves and an angry lake. But with that i found a massive pile of bait down deep that ran from 60ft to 125ft. Dropped down to 70 ft on the rigger and had my first decent Salmon of the day.

This was the set up at 70 ft. BY the end of the morning i had landed 5 salmon that were over 20".
I also ran a dodger fly on the lead 3 colors was super productive on cookie cutter salmon.

Had a great time and released all the fish to grow to 10lbers. off the water at 1130
Heading back out in the morning.

Todd,

You had a great day.

Thanks for the tips and other stuff today at the launch.

BTW, what do you use for a navigation chart on your tablet?

Good luck with the lures and tapes.

Nice seeing you out there Todd. I couldnt catch any big ones ended up with about 20 15-18 inch salmon and about 6 lakers. Did get a few at 70ft but they were small go figure. Gerry did get a 23 incher over there later in the day.Blue and silver worked good for me later in the day. Fathead colors early were the ticket.

Okay Todd... your answer is an appropiate excuse. I think I may be in a similar boat as I have a mixed bag of lures too. Just ask my wife... she will tell ya that "I have more than I will ever need or use."

No wait a moment, don't ask her as it is better we don't.

Looks like good couple days of fishing for you. With this great weather & conditions, I'm glad your sharing stories and reports for those of us putting in hours. I was working on Shelburne point today with a calm lake view, drooling... Last week I noticed that wall of bait you were talking about between 60-125 and lowered away. No takers and wondered whether it was a smart move or not. At the time it was a move. I'll give it another go 'round next time. Keep the reports coming.
