WOW. Lots of paint gone. Maybe you can quickly fix it by using tape.
That hook looks a bit rusted too ;)

brand new lure the hook could have come in with some contact with water from my lures. willow blade only worked in the fast water and gerry if i use tape might not work at all. dont know much about taping spinners.

Use nail polish Matt. Not as good as a powder coat but its easy and comes in a myriad of colors. Then you can give it to Alana (sp?) to do her nails. :-)

lou tossed it in the garbage wasnt worth the the effort. dont like spinners anyhow but sometimes need them in certain spots in the rivers. will buy better ones next time. that had the willow blade didnt work very well anyhow

3/11/2018 this afternoon hit a stream close to home for a hour or so with no hits at all. as i hit the 2nd hole though i saw what looked like fins of a fish so i froze and watched sure enough there was 2 either salmon or browns in about 5 fow set my worm down easily and wow did they spook went under the bank. ugh. left my worm there for about another 15 minutes but no takers. its early and i was very happy to see these 2. i forgot to mention a 18 or 19 inch brown or salmon dead underneath a stick in the stream.

3/23/2018 it still frostbite time hit a stream today and was mostly iced over so i decided to explore a new stream. got there about 7:45 am with several fisherman there so headed up stream to do some scouting . 24 degrees but no wind. put a bobber and a snell hook on and attached a crawler. tried several spots working my way up stream. didnt sight fish any steelheads or browns but kept going. then i came to a little bend and not to deep saw some movement but just a quick flash . my ist reaction if its was a steelhead it would go up stream or a brown when spooked will hide. decided to stay and find out after about 20 minutes there bobber went down and and upper river and fish on . what a battle i had drag just zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzing . after about a minute came right down stream by me and got unhooked with that loose line. never saw the fish but im guessing steelhead all the way. a fisherman way below me saw the battle and came up and said i have never even got a bite this far up before. the fish wasnt that big im thinking maybe a 3 lber or so. fished another half hour an headed home . might try that stream again next week

4/13/2018 after shore fishing this morning at my freinds camp i decided to try a stream close by near the mouth of the lake. fished with a crawler on bottom and casted with a rainbow blue mackeral krocodile . only had about an hour so i was hoping to catch a brown or a salmon. about a 1/2 hour there had a soft hit on the krocodile then a strong hit right after and fish on and a good one it busted water and then to my amazement it was a steelhead but as i was watching he suddenly went under a bank and twisted the hook right out of his mouth. ugh. that would have been a blast trying to land it there. estimating the steelheads weight i would guess at least 5 lbs. not a good day lost a salmon in the morning and a steelhead later . but it was nice calm winds and 45 degrees. water temperature at both places was 40 degrees.

Nice report, as usual. Sucks to lose a few fish, but at least you’re getting them to bite. Can’t wait for my first outing of the year Monday.

4/20/2018 hit a river this morning and met up with wayne . got me a coffee at dunkin donuts and i knew i was going to need it in the 32 degree temperature with a nasty gusty wind snowing and snowing and sleeting. set up at 7:15 am with a 2 bobber set up and a crawler on 2 rods. would leave set and drift with the other. was close to the car so i could sit out of the snow fall or sleet if i had to. wayne came down about 8 am with 2 differnet set ups. i guy we know also came and set up in his drift boat a little farthur up from us. wasnt long tom got into a salmon then another and then lost one and still wayne and i with no hits. the wind was brutal and snowing like crazy wayne and i went to the cars for awhile. next thing i know tom is loading his drift boat on the trailer. came over said he couldnt do much with that wind. said he was getting into them closer to shore than my drifts. so while tom was visiting with wayne i went up river a little and tossed out my bobber worm a little closer to em. 5 minutes later my bobber starts dancing and fish on one leap and off he went. ugh. wasnt long after started snowing/sleeting mixture and was getting wet so i headed for the car. waited awhile but it didnt let up so i decided to call it a morning. the sleet actually stung a little on your face with that added nasty wind. it was still early but there will be other days. yes it was april 20th but still frostbite time ugh. :?
