Spoon and dodger that caught the nice salmon...

More later, fish on!

Well, here is the update.... We couldn't do better than this one, matter if a fact it was all white perch after him!

Now to the report.

Ran a spread with 6 rods... 2 on riggers set to 40 and 30, both with sliding cheaters... Ran 2 slide divers set to side at 2.5 setting off each side. 20 to 50 feet of lead 60 to 140 out. Also ran two lead core, one out 5 colors clean, the other 4 colors with the mag honey bee and 000 lurejensen dodger.... That setup struck gold!

We started on the cowbanks side and after sleghin too many white perch we ventured over toward the beach... Did the 1st silver in front of the beach by the corner on a cheater running 20 down...
Crazy Ivan frosty the snowman fired... So we switched to lots of black and white... This us when the mag honeybee kopkar went in the lead...

As we headed north toward Eagle mtn the lead core fired and started strippin line! I jumped on it like a 12 year old on a video game.....(sorry guys, not sure who's turn it was) fish took line for about 20 yards and I started making up line when he jumped the 1st time... He was about 100yards off the back and all i could think is lake trout.. Cause of the color! He let me get him into about 75ft back before he skyrocket again... This time all three of us sounded like a kid at the fire works.... Ooooooh aaah... Then we all guessing what he was... Mature salmon, brown, were the 2 best guesses... A minute later Raz slips the net on the most beautiful salmon I have ever caught. What he lacked in size, he more than made up for I'm color and kype...

We took pics, revived him in the live well, took a couple more pics, revived him while trolling along the boat, and let him swim back to bottom.. He is out there for the next lucky angler....

Nice flat day on water, good to talk to lightsndvariable on radio, and see muskytime on lake... Also great to see Thorny on his shake down cruise later in day!

God I love our lake!

That fish doesn't look like it is spawned out - perhaps it was on the verge of making a run up the river to do it's thing. It's way to chunky looking to be a dropback.
Salmon, the other pink meat.
