Post by nwhavnbill »

Set up at split at 10am dropped down 2 riggers at 20 and 25 one with cheater within 2 minutes both rods fire with salmon laker on one, salmon on the other. On the day, 2 keeper salmon, 4 short salmon and lots of nice releases but nobody home. I think it's starting.

Yup, decent day on Serenity too. Picked through the lakers to get silvers from Split Rock to Cannon. Started around 9:30 with silver on CI brown trout before I reached Split Rock. Brown trout stayed good for over an hour and then the bite for me moved to gin and tonic and green measles as it got cloudy and started to rain. Most fish 30 down, but I took fish at 25 and down to 55. Started with horizontal blades on one side and naked on the other. After 4 fish on blades, I added blades to the naked side and shortened my drop back. Bingo! Dropped a BIG fish half way to Cannon, and lots of "no one home" hits. Hooks were sharp, but I dropped or missed more fish than usual today. Never caught a fish on the cheaters. Ended up with 7 silvers to 18" all released and more than a dozen lakers from 3 to 9 lbs, a cisco and a yellow perch. No snakes on my fish today, but did enjoy fishing alongside Viper and Supercab.

Thanks for the report. We're giving converse a try this morning. The white perch on the IS have been too discouraging. We need a change.
