Three strikes

Post by raz »

Three fish in three hours today. 2 fish out of Whallons, 1 off Thompson's point.
Couldn't get the new E-Chip dodger with a fly to fire.
Rigger took one laker (2 pounder?) and one landlandlocked (16").
Slide-diver took a laker maybe 4 pounds?
Washed lots of spoons...
Hope to see it pick up soon!
Saw one other boat out there.
Catch and serve with lemon.

Mark...not sure if they were mature enough, maybe the larger one was mature enough to spawn. Both had flat bellies.

Should mention...
I got this great new rod I was trying out. Made my Mike Hogg of Crossroads Bait and Tackle.
Light/strong Lamiglas blank, quality Fuji reel seat, cork handle, 7 foot/one piece rod.
I only did one laker on it.
But...
It's going to be a killer on the Landlocks!!!

Getting time to try my fall area - should be some fish hitting. From what I am seeing with the ladder on the Boquet it could be a later start this year.
Salmon, the other pink meat.

I have one of those rods it has my name on it! There is nothing cooler than seeing your name on a rod.

I was putting 25-30lb fish in the boat with a Light action rod. They are tough as nails!

Great post Gerry!
