Headed to the Outer Bay today

The Laker reports out off the fill and the Delta have been dismal but they have to be there sometime this spring. We are going to do a four rod spread, two on boards and two on riggers. We will try both plugs and spoons in a variety of colors. If anyone wants me to scout an area or try out a color I am open to suggestions ;-)

I will try and give some live reports to go on if anyone is thinking about heading out this afternoon.

Here fishy fishy fishy!

Try a small plug along the causeway, especially in front of the black bridge... You may get a surprise EYE....

Good luck... working today and hoping to see any update

Del Gue, you just have to keep calling them. :) Good luck fishing. I'm trying to get over a nasty cold, so getting wet isn't an option. Today, I'm a chair jockey.
Hope you nail 'em. Fred

Hi,
Try a Rapala J9 in chartruese or blue, 50 ft back, release above the ball and run the ball just off the bottom. Do circles between the black bridge and sunset island. If they are there you will crush them.
Good Luck!

Only a bass by the black bridge and then we ran up to Colchester Reef and landed this guy in the pouring rain. Green and white spoon.

Nice. Looking calm. Very rare to have 3-4 days of calm waters in a row. Fred

I fished the west side of the cut today and nothing until we got over by the light house when we landed a 9lb Laker with two nasty lamprey hits. Fished for over three hours and hit a smaller one, 4lbs, near the northern can. At least the skunk of four trips is over!

Still not seeng much out there but a forty foot tree floating in the outer bay near the narrows. Called it in so hopefully it gets moved safely.

Thanks for all the help today. We tried a lot of everything today. Not much to see in the skinny water but saw bait suspended in deeper water along the drop off. The one laker we caught came out by Colchester Reef in about 60 FOW on the planer board down about 10 feet. Water temp on the surface ranged from 45 to 58. The winning lure today was a spoon.
