Inland Sea Lakers

Post by Danl851 »

I have fished Salmon in the inland sea off and on for 25 years. I have never even given a thought about lakers in there. Has anyone been fishing them in the Inland Sea with any success? Not looking for locations or methods, just wondering about them in the Inland Sea.

I was told by fishery Biologists years ago that the O2 levels in the Inland Sea are lower than the broad lake and as a result that Lake Trout do not spend much time in the IS, if at all... I have seen 2 lakers caught in the inland sea in the
past 5 years and both were caught in the spring in front of sandbar. I don't think they live in the IS, but were just there to forage for bait fish...

Just my 2 cents...

Good question though...

I have never caught one in Mallet's either, though some claim to get them off Robinsons in early spring.Maybe the summertime water temps get too high.
