a 5 lber.. a 4 na half and a three lber with a deformed back lol.. got 2 spawning fins also..

i fish fins for fun. those were small males ..the females dont change color. the largies were caught on a pearl white fluke

They're predatory, so any baitfish I assume. I think they're aggressive during spawning and will hit something if it's in its face.luntfrnd wrote:Bowfin! What did those eat? What do you do with them?

nice kyle, i've been meaning to say nice photos and, ... fishing! i grew up on bass and cats, and recently switched over to trout/ salmon as a change of pace
my first bowfin was in north hero, fishing for cats. i chomped on my shrimp bait... fun fish, though i haven't eaten one

my usual bait of choice for fins is cutbait. bluegill is def good. Never have much luck with artificials for em . Caught a few before during summer time on spinner and senkos but mostly cutbait.. and thanks everyone for the support i appreciate it alot

kyle1414 nice fish I enjoy fishing for fins myself they give a great fight. Nice lm also by any chance that spot your fishing wouldn't be in crown point would it looks like the trussel (sp) in putts creek.
