Converse Nov 12

Post by VermontHabitatEric »

Good but slow day on the water. Picked-up fishermen I met on this site, and headed to Converse. Boat on the water at 8:30am. Found the right water temperature and bait balls at 9am, and got out of the water at 2pm.

7 Salmons and 15-20 Lakers (lost count) were caught and the majority released in great shape.

Hi Ed:

I can give you a couple pointers.

Go with the wind and find the warmest surface water you can find. Fast troll with tiny silver spoons were productive.

Salmons seams to be everywhere the water is the warmest. Find bait balls and stay with the ball. Set your lures 10-20 feet above the bait. I fished Willsborrow, and later Burlington with better results. Converse was ok, most fishes were caught in 160-300FOW at dept above the bait balls.

Must have been a great day to be on the water?

I have bette succès in ruff windy conditions, but a confortable ride in sunny weather is more relaxing…
