:We fished our first Frostbite Shootout in waters I have never fished but fared okay with one legal salmon and 5 greasers. The salmon did not come aboard until I joked I was going to change up my gear to target the bottom dwellers and 2 minutes later we won silver. She was chucked full of alewives which might explain the slow bite. All fish were caught between 15’and 30’, black/silver and chart green were productive. I tried to do my part in culling the unwanted species for you all including a few white perch
It was nice to see Kevin from VT F&W and Kurt from USFWS at the weigh in to give an overview of the salmon program, Kurt got a tail sample from our 17” salmon, it was unclipped USFWS stock and fat and clean. Sorry we could not stick around longer to socialize, had to get back home for other commitments.
