We went down to Cape Cod this past weekend to visit family and our friend who is a semi retired rod and reel commercial fisherman to help him catch some black bass and fluke off the shores of Chatham and the bite was decent. We only fished for 3 hours because of the blazing heat and not a lick of wind and managed to catch 42 fluke and 5 bass, enough to pay for fuel, put a few dollars away for maintenance and top off his minimum annual quota to fulfill permit requirements. Saw the damndest thing at a Cumberland Farms in Chatham, a fish glove dispenser at the gas pumps!!
Was a great trip, did the tourist thing and got to catch some fish and eat some great food.
Might go back down late Sept when the run is better to help him fill his black sea bass quota if he can’t find any other help…..
