Been weeks since I’ve floated Reelax. It was time Sunday to see what the lake conditions were like. We launched before 1st light and motored to the zone fished 2 full hrs before we even saw a boat:) could tell it was Sunday:)
We caught white perch, yellow perch and smallies for the opening salvo… keeping the lines clean of grass and warm water fish was a full time job for 2 people. Riggers were set to 40-80 down with the temp cline showing 56 deg at 70-85 throughout the day. Surface temps around 71. Dean even mixed in a main line and cheater set that got a small salmon on the cheater and a yellow perch on the mainline?!?!
Much activity from cormerants and terns working the bait together all morning. The Cormerants were diving deep driving the smelt (yes it was smelt!) up to surface where the terns would quickly eat all they could before tge school dispersed. I got a short video of this. We spent much of the morning chasing this activity to keep good bait under us.

Lots of boats out by 10am, saw forum Member Misstress and also Justfishin with his whole family:)
Menu today started with baby back beef rib and Swiss sandwiches, followed by some jumbo franks and rounded out with some Cajun seasooned venison back strap that was very juicy:) The NEW grill took over right where my tired old Magma left off…. Can even check your hair- do in the mirrored surface.
One 1st ever Occurrence we saw. While trolling thru the cormerants flocks we have a riggger with cheater fire. The cheater had a 6” smelt on it and the main line had a 1st year salmon on it:) interesting….
The salmon did join the party throughout the day the counter ended up at 9 and Esad got to take a couple keepers home to fillet for dinner.
Dean taped some pretty good spoons. Again today 2 of his spoons fired well and were in the top 3 spoons of the day.
Thanks guys for the fun time. The weather was so nice I forgot it was Vermont for a day!

Great to see another epic report off Realax, again! River down here has been at flood stage for months it's seems so I'm jonesing for a float!

Dean's spoons looked good when he posted them, so it's great to see them produce. The irony of having so many great spoons on the market, yet old school taping still works, isn't lost on me!
Looks like a great trip and I'm sorry to have missed it.

Re: Back in the saddle on the sea
Nice report, Matt! Better than I did on Saturday. All we got was yellow perch, white perch, 1 baby bass and 1 baby salmon. It definitely kept me busy trying to keep the lines cleared. Took out a coworker and I had high hopes to show him a salmon ... the 8"er had to do! Only saw 1 flock of cormorants but didn't see any bait under them.
