6/25 Converse

Post by meangreen1 »

Since the weather was calling for calm seas we decided to head down and launch out of converse and try for some salmon and lakers. Morning started out slow with a few releases and one decent salmon… headed south to try for lakers with only one nice one on and a few releases. Decided to pick up and try some jigging for lakers. Tried our luck for a while but no takers today…. Headed back to troll in front of Converse and the fishing picked up with lakers and salmon. My girlfriend hooked into a nice tagged salmon. He was hooked deep so we took him home for dinner. Odd looking as it was long and skinny with a small hook jaw and larger than normal teeth. Will be interested in the data that comes back after we report it in.

Tagged fish was probably one from the hatchery, long time resident ,nose probably from bumping tank. I caught some 28 inches in a lake up north that was long and skinny, they fought like walleyes, came ringgit in.
