Fun on the Inland Sea

Post by meangreen1 »

Went out for a few hours this morning with my son Max. Started a little slow but then my son was able to hook into a Beauty of a salmon. It slammed the rigger hard and was airborn before Max was able to get to the pole. After clearing a rod to make space to land it in the middle his salmon started making lots of runs!! Taking a ton of line… for every 20 yards he reeled in the fish took out twice that. After a while we was able to get him close to the boat and as I dropped the net down to get him the salmon wasn’t ready and darted out making one last amazing jump before we managed him close enough where I was able to net him. Was short at only 25 1/2” but super fat and managed to tip the scale at 7 1/2lbs. Made for a fun morning along with some smaller silvers on the IS. Now just need to catch another one next weekend lol

What a beauty! Congrats on that monster. Let's hope you can find another just like it this weekend.

There's nothing like a big fish. Last one I had on was a rainbow.

Congrats to Max and his father.

Great catch and lifetime memory.
There's more like this in the pond, go get them.
