Floating Eatery with some salmon thrown in…

When I assemble a crew most know I don’t take gas money and when asked I always say bring something for the Grill…. Well today we all brought a course and we set out at 1st light from Converse. Before we setup the baked pretzels with salt and grey poupon we have 4 silvers on the counter:)

Shallow stick baits off the otter boards fired in the trough and we battled the north wind. By the time we picked ip for sheltered water at noon it had built to solid 4 footers and an occasional 5+ beast. At the point where we could only see our boards about 50% of the time we picked and ran back to VT and more calm waters:)

Again today purple and silver yozuri was hot followed by a blue and black stick of same make.

Many boat out today but all had skattered by noon:)

By the time we finished the bacon wrapped scallops we had 6 on the counter and decided to pic for a new spot.

Water in the new spot has risen to 40 deg! And We quickly landed the hog of the day after 4 jumps. Then we had a fish take a stick for a spin that turned out to be a chunky bronzback… good to see active salmon in multiple locations and temps…

After setting up in better conditions we cooked some cheese burgers. There is a saying… no weight will be lost aboard Reelax:)

Thanks guys for a great troll… next time we will need more napkins:)

That wind didn't look fun today. Gonna run solo tomorrow out of Port Henry launching is the rough part but if I do get a fish on then that becomes interesting to watch for sure. Done it several times but your reports give me it itch to go. You sure know know to get it done. Tight lines

Good day. The bite can be good with that north wind, but it’s not pleasant or Reelaxing fishing in it. I like the square burgers for the bread slices!

Great report as usual, Matt!

For those going tomorrow, I fished the NY side out of Arnold's Bay today. Warmest water I found in the bays was 38.3 degrees, but no salmon. Pulled stick baits for a couple hours before switching gears.

Fishville north was loaded with bait and plenty of cooperative lakers.

Wonderbread, Reverse Buzzy, and Purple Edge all saw action.

Didn’t weigh or measure any of them.

Great report as usual Matt. Love that surprise smallmouth. I've been seeing a lot of bass boats kicking around on the roads and ponds.

Had Easter over this past weekend at gramma's in Maine. We're looking hard at an after work trip out there towards or at the end of the week.

Dean, Jeff, etc., I messaged Matt earlier about the DYP, and he had said he didn't think there was anyone to run it. I'd be willing to take the lead on that if you wanted to contact me with a little direction. I think it's about a month lead time to get a fish and wildlife permit, right? So for the middle of may, we should get that going now.
