My year started on Jan 3rd and ended today on New Year's Eve! I recorded fin clip data on legal salmon for the first time in 42 years. It was a year I didn't fish for 2 of the prime months from May 25th to July 25th due to a broken boat windshield and 3 weeks of family vacation.

55 trips logged for salmon only on Champlain. I didn't get to Lake Ontario this year. 16 of the 55 trips I was a guest on other boats.

Logged 286.5 hours with lures in the water. Landed 99 legal salmon. Lost 110 salmon. Rod hours: 1,219 hours = 50 days!

Happy New Year!

Ron

One very notable event was Carol landing a Master Angler double a 6.75 lb Steelhead and a 9.5 lb / 29" male Salmon in a two hour window in August. This was our second 9 lb fish in 4 years on the boat and biggest in 42 years!

I was trailering on the highway and caught a stone from a passing truck on May 11th and shattered my Port window (faces the road). Took awhile to get the new one but by end of July the entire windshield was replaced with a 2022 upgraded version for the Fishmaster 196. Stronger hinge for the center windshield / thicker frame. Very pleased! $3,000 claim on my insurance. All good! I would've missed 3 of the 8 weeks with vacation mostly in June. That male was a beast! Slide Diver!
