Inland sea slammmer jammer

Been wondering what the salmon in the inland sea are up to for weeks… today, Fishdawg, and Dave Foundry and I launched from Apple island at 1st Light to find out. We found 42 deg water and lots of driverse bait profiles all over. Some HOT some COLD. But all fun..
4 riggers with fixed cheaters down 25 to 50 were the ticket today with minimal bling on one rigger near the boat. Army truck and blue moon were the hot spoons.

Menu today consisted of bbq seared pork
Loin medallions followed by cheese burgers…

Interesting to note the 29” OLD laker we landed in front of Eagle mtn, only the 2nd laker I have ever seen landed in the sea!!! Big head, skinny body… interesting fish!

Only one other boat out, who has been into silvers successfully on sea for a while, launched with us and trolled all day.

Guess we can call a day with salmon, lake trout, brown trout and a big pike to round it off an inland sea slammer jammer;)

They are all over the lake, quiet spots may hold biggest fish… the search is on!!!

Oh what fun!

Nice December day on the lake! Thanks for taking us out on the scout. Now that deer hunting is done for the year I can concentrate on fishing!

What a wild collection of fish. The laker looks like it's part eel or something. Or maybe a nurse shark. Weird.

We went out today for a quick trip, an all we caught was salmon, sad face. Just kidding, it's actually pretty cool, right? Been the trend all fall. We don't know how to catch browns or steelhead. Just can't do it, haha. I'll do a quick report next. Have a couple of pictures.

Great report as usual Matt.

Awesome post.
I didn't make it out unfortunately

What's your take on the Rte.2 bridge? In the summer it is way too shallow for my boat. Did you happen to notice the level at the bridge? My thoughts are the water has risen enough for me to sneak through as I will have to launch out of mallets or Colchester point due to some logistical issues. Def. trying for 2 trips this week-weekend. Also Considering the ledge near the mouth of the Winooski, Colchester Reef, etc.

And yes, that Laker :?

Thanks for another Great post!
