A reminder and Remembrance of two November Maritime disasters.

Post by Surprise »

Lest we Forget

Today is the 47th Anniversary of the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald:

And our own Dramatic Wreck on November 9, 2010 Of Pappa Neutrino's craft on Thompson's Point.
Unlike the Fitzgerald all souls and two dogs were rescued in heavy waves by First Responders.

As we cruise into Real Frostbite adventures, remember keep an eye on the sky and know your limits. If need head to shore, you won't drown on the ground. Stay Safe Have Fun.

Thanks Randy! The Edmund Fitzgerald was a tragic loss, well remembered by that song. I send it to several friends on each anniversary to remind them that NONE are beyond the weather. Papa Neutrino was a different story. Boating requires some intellect. That outboard motor was salvaged, and last I knew it still runs! Many of his "salvage" was on display at the annual Point Bay Party that year. Wonder where he might be now?
