Welcome back to the lake, glad you got into some fish. That salmon doesn't look too shabby!

Well we covered some water today, ran up to the boquet, that was a waste of time and gas, couldn’t even fish, way too much grass, weeds and leaves in the water,so we picked up and ran back down to essex and setup and trolled through whallons to split rock across to Vermont then south through Thompson past diamond and back over to the ny side, pretty much same results as yesterday, bunch of lakers and one salmon, definitely some good piles of lakers around,if that’s what you’re looking for, when you find them, rods are firing!!!!we even got the dog trained to watch rods!!!!

Well we decided to pound our way south today and surf the waves back,so we made it about five miles or so before we were tired of pounding and got turned around and setup with waves, hit two small salmon right away and then picked at lakers salmon and smallies all the way back to Westport, wound up with three salmon and dropped three, four lakers and two beautiful smallies!!!one was over three pounds other was just shy of five pounds

Well that’s a wrap for this year,in a way I’m glad that the derby was canceled cause we dropped a big salmon right behind the boat and that really would have made it that much more painful!!!anyway best salmon day on Champlain for us in five years, we wound up with around 10 salmon in the boat and dropped the big one and had another hit a free slider and bye the time we got to the rod the fish was three feet out of the water and broke us off, really cool to see but lost our best spoon for the day.dropped several other fish and missed a few, only had one laker today,so we wound up some where around 20 bites.started about seven miles south of Westport and worked north, best stretch was from Westport bay to about 2-3 miles south.once the lake kicked up a little we tucked into the bay and had a handful of bites in the bay.

Great day out there, turned out to be the best of the season for us, Barbers seems to have come back to life! Around 10 on, 4 over the rail, 3 healthy silvers and one laker, no clipped fins and Zero lampreys or scars. The wind was manageable. Hey Fins, be careful fishing Ontario on New Years Day! 😂
