Colchester Reef

Post by striper192001 »

My bride was reneging on fishing with me Sunday due to temps. We had the pleasure of getting friends to the airport for a 6 am flight. During that ride home she agreed to go as we had a great trip a week ago.
Launched at Mallets Bay at daylight and my idea was to see if there were fish around Colchester reef. Recreational forecast predicted 0-1 foot waves but when we got to main lake it was more like 2-3. I knew my bride wouldn't like driving in that so went south of the reef for a bit and turned around and told my bride to keep it headed downwind. Fishing two riggers with sliders and had fish on pretty quick. Action was pretty good for about an hour but all were small lakers. Decided that was enough and headed for launch which inner Mallets Bay was glass for a nice change.
I am not able to fish the Frostbite so good luck to all.

Congrats on the future wedding! Thanks for the post, good intel. I live close to that area and frequent it quite a bit.
