Split rock sun Beam

Post by Reelax »

Hit the southern lake yesterday with lightandvariable and dreamcatcher for one last scouting trip for the shootout.

Fish were active and the lake started flat but we had white caps by noon to help with the bite.

No detail with the derby so close but the surface temps were around 55 and in spots there did seem to be some thermoCline. In most spots it was 55 to 54 all the way down. Mixed in riggers, slide divers and lead…

Menu was a little limited as we left the steak on shore by mistake, but pretzels and hot dogs kept us on the water till 2pm..

Good to see a few forum members on the water. I think I saw truviking but am not sure it was him.

Gonna show a few pics of split at sunrise. The beam Coming thru the rock opening was a sight to see.

Third trip in a row with the counter in double didgets. But Sat numbers won’t matter size will:)

Fish on!

Very cool shots! Weather looks great for Saturday, but of a south wind but not a cold one.

Ha yeah, if it were numbers not size, I'd be all kinds of confident about the shootout right now, but, it's not, is it...

Nice talking to you out there Matt. Surprised we never saw you yesterday.

The H2o looked to be on fire in that pic! Frickin' remarkable!

Great post, as usual you all have found them!

Reelax, that wasn't me out there. I Sure wish it was! I've been doing some new Teak work (New Port & Starboard Battery Bay Bifold Doors, a "Walkthrough" door ((keep that Neg. Degree Wind away!), Teak Speaker housing at engine bay, some electrical/sound system install and improvements, some mechanical work and other stuff that needs attention. Hate that I've missed some good days, but the work will make future trips more enjoyable, comfortable & efficient, safer, (yada, yada, yada) on the boat. I should be done tomorrow. Tentatively planning a scouting trip or two before Saturdays Derby. Looking forward to the shootout!

Hope everyone is Well.

Best to You All!
