Port Richie inshore slams and more

Got to fish with capt Curt Romanwoski out of Port Richie Florida yesterday with Theresa. We fished from 830 to 2pm when the tide died and we threw in the towel. Sea trout, Redfish, and snook completed the inshore slam and some bonus species like Jack Cravelle and Snake head mixed in for good times….

Theresa had a blast.

She sight casted into a 3 foot plus snook that would have had to go on the wall. When the gill plate cut the 30lb flourocarbon leader like butternut saved me $500 on a Mount;) oh well.

What fun!

Man, I guess I missed this report. I was looking for one to pop up too.

Nice fish Matt, the sun and warm air must have felt good this time of the year. We're going to be out on the water here soon, but, I'm not sure just when.

Ive got a big road trip coming up myself, and I'm fabricating and installing another fuel tank in my van to double my range between fuel stops when towing. Ive got three weeks to get it done. Not sure I'm going to make it.

Just stayed one night in New Port Richey. Had dinner at Whiskey Joe's on Thursday. Never fished. Nice catch!

Hey Jeff

How was Whiskey Joes? was thinking of going there. Hit that area each year and am wondering if it was worth trying….

We fished Friday morning and I booked a boat for 4 with wife as only other fishermen. Wish I knew you were down there Jeff, we coulda had you Jump on!

Best spot in trip was the backwater at sand bay. Snook, redfish, under the mangroves and Jack cravelle running the deep channels chasing bait. That area was magical with a heavy in Comming tide!

Fish on!

It was very good. I have two different friends that live there. Next year we should hook up on a trip. I'm in. I got a guy In Homossa that's great too ! Also thinking on a month there, then two weeks in the Keys.

Matt and Theresa,
Looks like time collecting Vitamin D is really paying off for the two of you. What a wonderful sounding trip.
I always wanted to get down to the area you're in now. My wife and I lived on the east coast just south of West Palm Beach and use to fish of the coast around there.
