Presently in Nanaimo on Vancouver island visiting my so David for a week. We were able to go fishing a few hours with a friend on Thursday.
Caught 5 Chinooks and a dog fish. All released.
Will try to post pics from iPad when I figure it out.

Re: West Coast
David lives in a Winnebago since last fall. He sold his boat in spring but a month ago he bought a 17’ fishing boat. Will try to post some pics.
Saturday we used his boat to fish, caught 3 chinooks.
Sunday we caught 7 chinooks.
Yesterday put the boat on trailer and removed barnicles from bottom.
Today trailering boat to Port Alberni for Cohoe salmon.

Re: West Coast
It’s almost a 2 hour ride from where we are to the fishing ground near Port Alberni, 40 minutes of gravel road.
On the water for over 4 hours but fish did not collaborate. Not a single bite. We saw a lot of seals and some wanted to play near the boat. Lost a 15 lb down rigger ball when braided line broke on retrieval. On the way back, we broke some supports on the trailer because of all the bouncing on the dirt road. Spent today getting new parts and fixing trailer. Tomorrow flying back home.
Hope to go walleye fishing early next week.

Re: West Coast
Here are pics of David's boat he acquired this summer.
17 footer with Yamaha 115hp. All welded aluminum.
Strange looking but handles very smooth even in rough water. Very stable and lots of storage in the front and in both pontoons.
Full canvas for total protection.
Can easily land on beach or shallow water. Lot of room in back to move around. We installed Scotty downriggers brackets on both sides.
