i have heard sea bass are really good eating how about croakers? will i catch some sea trout never caught one.
so your suggesting also just to fish on the pier.
Hardheads (Atlantic Croakers) are good tablefare. dark meat fish on the lighter side though
Sea Bass are too, white meat fish.
Sea Trout & Specs (speckled sea trout) are hit & miss down there right now, as are red drum.
Trout I usually did better in the fall from shore and backwater areas are better than the inlet.

Oceanic pier is at the southern tip of the main street, facing the inlet. Can't miss it, everybody knows it.
Condo is corner of 85th street and main street.
Some of our favorites:
One of the best buffet is the "Bonfire", I believe at 70th street, but a bit expensive. Great for big appetite.
Good reasonable food and price at the "Big Pecker" corner of 73th street.
Fish Tales on 22nd Street Bayside.
Seacrets on 49th street Bayside, a Jamaican experience.... a must to visit.
Monday evening ribs at Fager's Island, 60th street Bayside, limited seating.
Belly Buster's for blue crabs, 44th street.

Many many good restaurants everywhere, depending on your taste and wallet.

Let us know where you went and your experience.... good to share with others.

Seacrets jerk chicken!
Belly Buster's & Big Pecker's both good too.
Don't forget the Thrasher's boardwalk fries!
Hooper's is okay, pricey but good food.
Scooner's & Bull on the Beach up near 94th st are okay.
You really want an adventure away from the strip, then jump in the car and head to Nanticoke Road over in Salisbury. About an hour from OC. Long drive to Whitehaven from there, about 45 minutes, but The Red Roost is a great place for all you can eat crabs...hands down better value and experience than crabs in OC.
