Looking for a seat
Unfortunately, I missed the DYP because of work and turkey hunting. It seems like this is NOT the year to buy a boat/motor. So... I was hoping to get a seat in some generous person's boat. I live in Charlotte, mostly work for myself, and have lots of questions about how to get started trolling on Champlain. I didn't grow up near the big lake.
I can offer gas money and snacks. I have a fair supply of venison steak in my freezer still. I can also steer you toward a good price on tree work and brush-hogging.
I'm trying to figure out if chasing silver and lakers is for me. I have some flexibility in my schedule and I don't mind getting up early. If you would like company and don't mind answering a bunch of questions, let me know. I am willing to travel as far as Crown Point or the Inland Sea. The best way to contact me is my business email: fwdbiz@hotmail.com. Put something fishing in the subject line.
Thanks for reading, Zeb

Welcome to this great forum Zeb.
I am stuck North of the border, cannot fish Champlain until the border re-opens.
I am positive you will get multiple responses for an open seat.

Thanks Gerry.
I am stuck South of the border and cannot fish NW Quebec for walleyes this year.
I would really like to get a boat of my own, but I'm trying to make sure I know what I'm getting into!

Hey Zeb,
I am late in getting my boat and gear together. I like fishing out of Converse and may have some mornings coming up. If so I will email you.....

Hey Zeb,
Same here. I will have a few mornings coming up here this week, either Converse or Inland Sea(been having excellent luck in South Hero past week or so!)
I'll let you know as early as possible (1-2 days before)

Thanks for the replies guys. I've been fairly busy with firewood and hay. I hope everyone is staying cool (or as cool as possible). I appreciate the folks on this forum. People seem to be generous with their info and time. I look forward to seeing some of you on the water!

Bump. Still looking at boats and I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger. Looking for an experienced troller who could show me the ropes. I need to know what gear I have to have to get started. Tight lines everyone!

Re: Looking for a seat
Thanks for asking EJ.
I ended up buying a 16' Sylvan Sea Monster. I took it out a few times around Town Farm Bay while the water was still warm and caught 1 laker, 1 good smallmouth and some white and yellow perch. Been busy getting ready for winter and doing some deer hunting. I'm not sure when/if I will get back out after silver.

REELAX,
My Son and I Have been very much looking forward to it! But, as Murphy's (or Eric's) Law seems to always find me, our Toyota Highlander, which I use to tow my Boat, is at the Autobody shop. It won't be out of the shop tomorrow by the looks of it. So, now I am in scrambling mode. I posted last night, but am going to put another post out there and see if I can make a Deal with somebody for a rental, drop-off Tow, etc... We will definitely do our best to get out there with you all!
Good Luck out there regardless!
Thanks.
Best,
Ej (TruViking) & BJ (TruViking, Jr.)
