Southern Trip

Post by mudchuck »

Had a blast last week, although I missed the eyes in the river, I did manage to get in some sight seeing and fishing while away.

Started out on west side of VA, hit up a winery near the campground. Fished a few places on the Potomac, Rappahannock & the campground lakes, but only managed a few dink bass & bluegills, but was nice scenery and wildlife everywhere.
Then mid week went over to DelMarVa to see family and got in some fishing while I was over there.
Was awesome seeing the porpoises chasing baitfish & the stripers move in to feed too at Roosevelt Inlet at Lewes, DE
Caught some throwback stripers & horseshoe crabs, nothing to write home about but a fun day on the rocks.

Picked up some soft-shelled blue crabs and brought them home for a family feast.
Wasn't sure I was was going to make it back when I left, as just about everywhere was out of gas the day I left!

Sounds like a fun trip, Mudchuck! Good seeing you at the launch / on the water last night. Hopefully the salmon cooperate a little more next time.

Love the Roosevelt Inlet at Lewes, DE. It's only 1/2 hour from my summer place in OC.
Won't be able to make it this year, borders are still close.
Blue crabs are a delight... lots of work but sooo good.
Sorry but Scrapples are not in my favorite food list.
Nice pics.
