7/18/2019 braved the heat this morning and went across the big pond for some shore fishing. good stiff wind made it cooler wasnt bad but i kept getting hung up and losing jigs. my ist this morning i think fishing with 2 rods with moon eye jigs tipped with crawlers 2 runs same tIme both headed up and i hooked both and landed both walleyes. hurried to release them in the water since it was hot close to 18 inches but i didnt chance it released them. i landed 1 more about 16 inches but every time i missed a bite i got hung up lost 7 jigs .getting warm so i headed home fished a little over and hour well worth the drive.

Those Mooneye jigs arent cheap either. But it sounds like they're worth it!

I was treated 10 years ago and so far my treatment (radiation) has resulted in my being cancer free with almost no PSA during annual checkups. I owe my primary care doctor a huge debt. He tracked my PSA like a hawk and my prostate cancer was caught early.

I'm with Matt in advising all men to have periodic checkups after 50 and to get a baseline check even earlier if there has been prostate cancer in your family.

My first procedure was 20 years ago. Second one was 15 years ago.

A lot of men don't like talking about it, but also refuse to look into it and then limit the available options. The more that we all talk about it the better! It won't go away on its own. You have to fight it with all the tools that are available ... with more tools coming out every day! "The only foolish questions are the ones that aren't asked".

Do yourself, your family and your friends a favor and discuss it with your doctor the next time you see one. Once you have a PSA Blood test, you have a benchmark that can keep you informed as to the relative status in the future. Always remember that YOU are responsible for fighting it.

If your doctor recommends the wait and see approach, find another opinion and start checking out the Internet. Tons of great info out there and ask others that have had it. Most of us feel honored that you ask, so that we might be of some help.

got another set back yesterday looks like ill be fishing the tackle box market and deli from shore with scott. alyana will be fishing with us just friday as she will be away friday and saturday. dr says they need more tests before ill be able to lift and climb .

7/24/2019 headed across the big pond this morning with alayna ist time since fathers day derby . started fishing at 8 am and set up with 3 worm rods 1 jig 1 sinker and hook and just 1 hook on end of line for cut bait. alayna caught a small white perch right off and set it on the hook and tossed it out. bite was slow but the small white perch kept her busy. she had a nice run but she missed she didnt wait till the line was tight. about 9 am on the jig she had a doubled over rod and she grabbed and fish on and a big one. alayna immediatly started to lift and the 3rd time she did she let to much slack and the fish got free. alayna looks at papa and says my fault i said good lesson learned next time you will catch that fish. got a text from my wife alayna had company so we left at 10 am . alayna was so excited seeing all the big fish busting water.

7/24/2019 had a practice run this morning with scott for the tackle box market and deli derby . we decided to fish a few hours scott with shrimp and crawlers and me with cut bait and crawlers. scott caught a small bowfin before i got there on a shrimp. it wasnt long i got a run on the cut bait and a miss. then about a half hour later i got a big surprise i have a run and a fish on and a fighter after a fight and i got it close to shore scott and i couldnt believe it i jumped up out of my camp chair and scott kept swiping at it i had on a long gar fish after several attempts which seemed to take forever scott got it in and grabbed it we took some pics gave each other high 5,s and releases this 40 inch gar. my ist ever. then 10 minutes later another run and i lose another one on shore. then about 45 minutes later i have a run and its peeling line close the bail and fish on and a good one wow what a fight. as it got closer i saw it was another gar . scott couldnt get it in the net so i tried to drag it on shore for him to grab it for quick pics.well he finally got it and got bit in doing so on the arm. scott went up and got a rule and it was 46 inches took some pics and released it. ist ones in my life and 3 within 1 hour wow on cut bait. we left early with me getting 6 runs and scott 3 both of us losing a big catfish we guessed. derby time tommorrow evening at 8 pm we probably wont start till friday with alayna joining us.

Congrats Matt on your Gars i hope Scott didn't get bit to bad they have a lot of nasty teeth.
You might see Traci and I on the creek if your there we might try to find some crappie we heard we could
find some there around fallen trees this time of the year. you ever catch any on the creek?

don yes but there is lots of bait right now to compete with but you could try not sure if we will be there all 3 days were going to move around depending on the bite.

Great looking Gars! I caught quite a few on Cayuga lake but I don't believe they were that big! Sounds like fun!

1. Live small minnows drift fishing for bass. ( not targeted ) A lot were caught this way and just cut the line when they got to the boat.

2. Read an article by Jason Lucas that got me 5 in one day! (He was my hero!)

(caught in their teeth).

Small minnows under small bobber in same weed-bed just under surface.
