A friend of mine has a new (to him) boat and is taking his kids and dad out this weekend for some fishing. He doesn't have downriggers, I'll give him my leadcore and slide divers to try for some suspended fish on one day, might pick up some lakers or salmon, but he'd like to target some bass/panfish/warm water species with his kids this weekend also on Sunday. His boat is in Shelburne Bay, I'm not up on the bass/panfish/warm water species techniques too much. Anyone have some spots within running distance of Shelburne Bay, and lures to use? Suggestions?
Any suggestions welcome.

With the water levels up, try the shallow weedbed along the east side of the bay and the Laplatte. Pick up a few Mepps Aglia #4 spinners with red/white blade. Dressed or plain. Both work. Casting along the weed edge, submerged logs etc.... Good luck.
Re: Looking for info
We have been doing good on pan fish around the rocky shore in about 5 to 8 Feet of water. If the wind is slow just drift with a half of night crawler on a size 6 or 4 hook with a sinker close to the bottom. The hooks with the spinner blade on them are the best. take a lot crawlers with you. Have fun
Re: Looking for info
I haven't pan fished in shelburne, but I fish it a LOT and if the bass boats are any indication the tops spots are:
in the little bay just south of LCYC and around the cliff to the other side (I imagine smallies)
across the bay on the other side from the wood pylons north to the second LCYC buoy in the shallows
Along the front of red rocks area and around the corner
across the bay at the point of the bay where it meets broad lake.
I have HAMMERED smallies along the breakwater in burlington waterfront as well, but its probably the wrong time of yer for that.
I see bass boats make this route from the launch every time I am out, so it must be productive.

Re: Looking for info
The IS around Savage Island was good for Smallies, this morning. Light breeze and hungry fish made for a great Saturday on the lake. Great action in the 2-3 lb. range. Also had fun with some fat yellow perch.

Re: Looking for info
Thanks for the tips. I was able to give him some equipment and tips for laker fishing on Saturday that proved successful. Sunday was to be his bass fishing day, but it was quite the blow day so he didn't get much time out there with his kids to give it a try. However I'll use the info myself and get out there.
Appreciate it.
