New personal best smallie

Post by voyager »

Greetings from the St. Lawrence River....

Image

The water levels are down, but the fish are biting just fine. Caught this new personal best smallie on Sunday (21+in, ~6 lbs). Picked it up in an area of mostly rock with scattered weeds in about 5ft of water on a #5 Mepps spinner, gold blade with white bucktail on the hook. By the way that Mepps was my first purchase from Dockside when Ben was in the old store. :D

Hog Hog Hog.
Hey...I think I drove thru your area two weeks ago but didn't have a way to get in touch with you. Great looking area for fisherman.
Water levels are down here too. We'll be below 95' any minute.
Hope to see you again soon!
Catch and serve with lemon.

Not many people have caught 6 lb smallies. That is one heck of a fish. Congrats.

Nice football :) Gotta love inline spinners.
For some people it's "one more drink" or "one more bet" for me the lie is "just one more cast" :)

Great Smallie!!! I've been an avid user of Mepps spinners since '71. My best producer has been #4 Aglia bucktail with the red & white blade. I like using a black & yellow Black Fury at dusk. You never know what will nail it.

Awesome smallie. Never think to throw inlines anymore even though they are in the locker.
