Steelheads ??

Just wondering after last years abundance of steelheads. This early spring I have not heard of much in the way of putting any in the boat!! Maybe do to spawning?? Any thoughts!! Sleeps

I heard of a few large ones in Lewis not too long ago...

They're in the process of spawning I assume....even though this wacky weather may change timing a bit. I read some of the steelhead in NY are already spawned out returning to the Lake. Only time will tell.

There's been some real nice steel caught "up north".
Catch and serve with lemon.

20,000 steelheads dropped in St Albans Bay 2 days ago on Wed. I have a good friend who watched them swim away in surfacing packs.

They're stocking the yearlings right about now I think.

Yes, they're stocking yearlings right now, little six inch fish. I stopped by the falls in North Ferrisburgh after work the other day and there were a bunch of them trying to swim up the falls. A bunch of six inch torpedos flying out of the water and crashing down into the rapids. Wicked cool!!!

Hoping that with the Lampreyes hopefully getting under control That these wonderful gamefish will keep expanding!!! Sleeps

Yeah, I fished it Sun and hooked up with 50 of those things. There are some in the 8-10" range too..
