Re: It's been a long year.
I didn't get the first week off like I had planned. But I hunted every chance I could get. It was Sunday November 30th. I decided to try a different area. I headed into the mountain to a stand I have on the border of pines and oaks. I saw 4 does on the walk in and another deer I jumped near my stand. At 0830 five does came through. They scented me and took off. At 1030 a deer came trotting along there was no mistake telling he was a shooter. He stopped behind a tree at 75 yards, I waited when he stepped out from behind the tree I let him have it with the 270 cal. 130 gr.corelocks. It took me an hour to drag it one hundred yards to the top of the hill. (it was very steep) Then another hour to drag it a mile or so to the truck. I was to tired to pick up the deer and put it on the tailgate. So I put the truck cross ways in the road, that lowered it low enough I could load it.

What a slammer. Looks like the antler restrictions have worked well there as well.
