Best area for spring lake trout ???

Hi,
I plan to fish in the next weeks. I know there is good salmon fishing around the sandbar but is there also lake trout in that area ?
If I want to target big lakers, should I stick more on the NY side where there are more rivers going into the lake ?
I'm use to fish in the summer time, I don't know where to search early in the spring.

One of the best spots to hit lakers in the spring is the Winooski delta (long lines in 6-12fow work).... From there they move deeper as the water warms up. Mid summer they can be found on humps 60-90 fow with deeper water near buy. I wouldn't bother targeting lakers in the Inland Sea anything you find will be transient.
