Oswego 7-30 & 31

Post by Flashpoint »

arrived Tuesday afternoon to mildly bumpy seas a little afternoon. waited for it to lay down as forcasted & we headed out about 3:30.
found temp down 80 out about 220fow. set up three riggers & before I could get dipsies in we had hook ups! boated two nice adult kings on glow green flasher with proam flys down at 95. Got the dipsies in and one at 270 takes a rip. nice 3 yr old king at 18 lbs. next we took a 10 pound brown on the middle rigger that had a sliding cheater on it with a Bobby fuller brown Gobie spoon. Put the 400 copper out & in five min that took at 12lb teeange king. we had a couple misses on the riggers & one on the dipsie. Ended up the night with 7 for 11 with the best King at 27lbs!
Next morning we headed out on almost calm seas about 6:00 am
put the first port side rigger down at 85 & it hadn't been down 30 sec when a nice 24lb king decided to take it for a ride!! SWEET! Got that one in and finally got the riggers & 2 dipys set when the starboard rigger fires. Get this one to the boat at the fish made a run over the wire diver...not good. cut the leader & fish with Flasher fly gone!
Oh well...get set back up & we miss two in a row on dipys....
thats fishing. our way points petered out so we trolled east in side and at 145 fow the 245 dipy takes a ride. Nice 22lb adult king. I reset it & see the 400 copper bobbing around. this one has a 10 lb brown on it so we are feeling better. slid into 75-95 fow & put an all spoon program down for Browns. First taker in about 5 min & we have a couple of strong tugs & drop him. reset & in about 10 min the opposite rigger fires....goes down & stays down..for like 10 min! Thinking we might have a pig Laker on, the fish creeps its way to the surface & the 16yr old young lad on the rod did a great job in patiently bringing it up. To my delight as it breaks the surface its a monster Brown! We get it boated & it tips the scale at ounces under 20 lbs!!! OUr best out there so far.
we picked up a few more small browns & call it a day shortly there after as the Brown is going ont he wall! Finshed 6 for 12 all in all a goo day on awesome water!
