It's a beautiful view, but I prefer when the rod just released and still swinging :D

180-200-250-275 at times. Labor day week As Hajecki says.. I don't look at the counters anymore. Just watch the smart troll screen for depth.

July 4th report by Crazy Yankee. Nice editorial on why you need Smart Troll for your divers:

More reasons why you should using Smart troll:

These situations change the Dive Curve alerting you to pull your diver in to check:

1) Small shaker dragging
2) Setting out two divers on a side they get tangled due to currents.
3) Fleas build up causing the diver to rise as much 10 feet.
4) Diver tumbled and gets wrapped in the snubber and isn't running true to depth
5) Putting wrong diver in the water set for the opposite side.

2nd year anniversary with Smart Troll! It's an amazing tool in the tool box just like our Simrad autopilot with contour following ability for browns! We keep seeing more advantages every season when we put these in the water on our 4 diver program in Ontario and 2 diver program in Lake Champlain! I feel we have added 30% more catch at the end of each day due to these probes keeping us in the game! Can't say enough how this is a game changer for trolling. We turn the boat in current we adjust! We get bit on one diver we make adjustments! It's a chess game that keeps rewarding us as we dial in the depth we are taking these fish. We have downsized our rigger program 2 years ago to two riggers as well on the boat. Stealth is King! Putting presentations above fish and keeping them there results in more bites! Fishing below fish it's "Game Over".

Nice to see more people signed up for and using Smart Troll! There has been about 6 people I know around here that are running the system now. When I guest on a boat with no Smart Troll it's like fishing blind! It's nice to know where they are running at all times keeping the divers in the active bite zone! It's now been 2.5 seasons I have been running them. The only time I don't run then is March-May here. I run them at the Bar in early May in Ontario though. We have taken some nice Browns / Steelhead / Salmon on the divers this past season with the Smart troll sensors attached!

I use my Smart Troll and Fish Hawk Lithium Ultra system to create a pyramid approach of data mining for temp. / depth data to find the best depth and temp. to dial in the bites. Some days it riggers and other days it divers or both. Once I find it I focus and manipulate where I run to maximize the bites! I have better success running baits higher than lower in the temp. column. With the accuracy of depth of both systems it allows fine tuning of the presentations!

Short demo of how we attach our OR-16 offshore red clips with tabs to hold the probe inline on the wire for both types of divers:
