Lake Ontario Salmon School 3/9/24 Pulaski

Post by digitroll (ron) »

After fishing with Randy on Friday I was up and atom at 1:30 am and hit the road to Pulaski for school!

My Facebook post:

This was the best salmon school I have ever attended going back 20 years. I have been fishing Lake Ontario for 42 years and just when you think you would know a lot......well I took 3 pages of notes at age 63...LOL. The format of 3 guys and a power point display adding their knowledge and experience made it nothing less than fascinating and riveting for 8 hours! Timed breaks / a great lunch buffet / Raffle at the end was fantastic. The venue was perfect and it's wonderful we have a salmon school now for the eastern end! I traveled 300 miles and picked up my Oak fishing buddy Joe in Albany, NY about halfway and he agreed too that this class was epic! We had a nice time shopping at Fat Nancy's and All Season's with our generous class discount afterward. Had a chance to talk to these wonderful guys at break time and after it was over. The crowd of 125 were very polite and some of the nicest guys out there. Thank you Captains: Casey / Rob / Pete! I would highly recommend buying your ticket for next year as soon as it's posted. Sell out fast!

Did well on the raffle!

Thanks Ron for sharing.
As many of us also fish Lake Ontario, it is good to know about that salmon school.
Possibly something to schedule for next year.

It has been decades since we had a school in the east. The Niagara trip is a long one for a class for me and it's always kept me and other from making it in winter. There are already plans for a class again in 2025 based on the success of this one. Pulaski is a lot closer! It's great they have this class closer to us to attend! This one sold out in 12 days back in December! 125 seats! I am pictured 4 over from right to left in the front row taking notes.
