Jim and I dragged the Mistress down south today and met up with Matt and crew from Reelax on the water. The temp was 14 on the ride down but warmed to a balmy and bright 19 when we launched shortly after 7. On the water winds were light and variable for the first few hours and, flat come but built out of the north as forecast to waves a little better than 1’. The bite was steady with 3 legal salmon boated, 3 got aways that took to the sky and then the border and 7 lakers. All but 2 salmon had juvenile lamprey marks but were healthy otherwise. Another great day on the water and another month marked off for our quest to put a Champlain salmon in the boat every month of the year

Re: Sunday Salmon
Thanks Pat for your report. We don't see too many this time or year.
Glad you got some nice catches.

Re: Sunday Salmon
Sorry guys, I just realized I omitted some critical information for Sunday's report! The bite was on stick baits longlined 100'-120' back and if Matt from Reelax had not shared what was working for him the Mistress would have gone home with just one salmon!
And a sidenote we did see one other boat from So Hero out and got to talk to them at the launch when we were loading out, nice guys....

Re: Sunday Salmon
Great to fish beside the Mistress and crew yesterday Pat. The lake was much more calm than expected and a full day of sunshine sure felt good!
We ran a shallow program with sticks on long lines with 2 color lead or a split shot sinker. Lots
Of bait over 100 fow but bite was in 20-35 fow. 2nd salmon of the day jumped 2x and gave a great fight. It was possibly Esad’s personal
Best salmon, but not certain. Had AveJoe and Esad along today and surf and Turf menu of baked clams, home fries potatoes and ribeye steaks. We didn’t go hungry that is for sure. Purple brown trout pin minnows hit the best, all within 10 feet of surface water that started at 34 and needed day at 36.
We landed salmon from 730 till 2pm and gave up with the counter in double didgets. We saw only one lake trout today, all other fish were salmon.
Thanks to Esad, Joe, Pat for such an enjoyable return the the lake!
Fish on!
